Potential National Historic Designation for Four Raleigh Neighborhoods

Monday night, representatives, residents and landlords flooded a room at the Tarrboro Community Center to learn more about the potential of their neighborhood being designated as part of the National Historic Registry. This designation is a great honor for these neighborhoods which include Longview Gardens, Capital Heights, Battery Heights and Madonna Acres.

Week 9,832,096 — Bathroom Tile Goes In

I had a little hiccup with the bathroom tile. Well let’s say the bathroom tile project had some major Lower GI issues brought on by the initial hiccup.
I had one guy come out and price the tile job and his estimate was 4 times the budget. The second guy, who I have used on several [...]

Featured Homes — Remodeling Tour Storms the Triangle

This past weekend, the Triangle’s Remodeling Tour drew thousands of people to the area to tour local homes. Their efforts also raised funds and awareness of one of my favorite local non-profits, Building Together Ministries.
The tour had several houses that families had spent the last year remodeling.

Cooper’s BBQ gives way to the Edison Project

Cooper’s BBQ has reportedly struck a deal with the Edison Project’s developers, Hamilton Merritt, Inc which has catapulted the project to City Council and gained their approval. The project’s approval was on hold until the sale was negotiated for two adjacent projects including Clyde Coopers.
I am planning to stop in for lunch and ask around this [...]

The House Continues!

In the last couple of weeks, the fence has started being built, the painters starting caulking, the front door has been set, the drive way was dug out and has begun to be poured, the interior trim was started and the interior doors should be here tomorrow!
Check out the pictures I snapped today!
