Stool Pigeons Flew the Coop

Reports that Stool Pigeons has closed have crossed my path via email, twitter, and even news articles but no confirmation yet of what will be replacing the bar found below Martin & Jones Law Firm in the Pine State Creamery.
I never took the time to write a review on Stool Pigeons but I guess today [...]

Boylan Bridge Brewpub – Add Bacon

It’s taken me a while to finally get around to writing a full post on Boylan Bridge Brewpub but better late than never! It came to me last night when I was having a Happy Hour drink with a couple of friends after a long Monday. They asked me about where a great place to [...]

Random Thoughts for The Day

These were sent to me by one of my friends…. I had to edit them down to only 10… but nonetheless they are pretty funny:
Random Thoughts of the Day:
1. More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can
think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that [...]

Things to do, see, and eat in Raleigh

Hey Raleigh Native,
If you’re looking for a blog idea one day, you should make a list of the must see places in Raleighfor people visiting from out of town.  When I have family or friends coming in town that have never been here before, it’s always hard to figure out what to do with them [...]

Thanks to one of my wonderful readers, and don’t worry… I’ll keep you anonymous, I am in the possession of the only Leprechaun that was spotted at the Def Leppard concert!
I wonder what “What Not to Wear” would say about this one….

Happy Friday everyone! If only this leprecon had been carrying a pot of gold!
Do [...]

Potential National Historic Designation for Four Raleigh Neighborhoods

Monday night, representatives, residents and landlords flooded a room at the Tarrboro Community Center to learn more about the potential of their neighborhood being designated as part of the National Historic Registry. This designation is a great honor for these neighborhoods which include Longview Gardens, Capital Heights, Battery Heights and Madonna Acres.
The designation does not [...]

St. Augustine College Welcomes Back Students

This morning I took the shorter route to work which drives me past St. Augustine College where they were out in the middle of the street welcoming back their new and returning students! I wish that someone would make me a balloon arch!

But of course, and this is why I usually choose the slightly longer [...]

Blount Street Commons Back on Track… it seems

After several months of absolutely no activity on the Blount Street Project, this morning Stock Building Supply’s trucks had arrived and they were finally wrapping the abandoned shell of the second phase of the project. From the looks of it, only one resident has moved in to phase 1.
The shell was literally weeks away from [...]

Sauced Pizza Delivers

There has been quite the debate on good pizza in downtown Raleigh. My favorite spot has always been Moonlight Pizza on the corner of Morgan and Boylan. They prepare a fresh upscale version at a fair price of your typical pizzeria cuisine. I love their pizzas, tortellini, spaghetti and meatballs and that incredible spinach salad.
But [...]
